Puesto Viejo/England in the USA!

Glen Farm, Portsmouth, USA, provides the battle ground for the 21st season of the Newport International Polo Series (presented by Rhode Island BMW Centers). The series showcases an exciting lineup of action-packed polo matches featuring an all-star lineup of international competitors playing against USA.

On Saturday, 1 September 2012, Jeremy Baker – Puesto Viejo Polo Club owner and Chairman – will participate in the annual Polo Series in Rhode Island, USA. Baker will represent England in a legendary polo rivalry between the two nations that began in Newport in 1886. Also playing for England will be Captain and chairman of the Hurlingham Polo Association, Nicholas Colquehoun-Denvers. Ali Paterson and William Healy make up the remainder of the team, who will play for a victory against the defending American champions.

The Newport International Polo Series of 2012 takes place in the picturesque setting of Glen Farm, the last 100 acres of what was once a 700-acre manorial farm whose settlement dates back to the 1600’s. The matches are open to the public; tickets can be purchased online until 10am on the day of the match or at the entry gates, which open at noon in September.
