It’s always exciting receiving word that one has won a polo tournament abroad, especially when you’re not directly involved! The Orange Tournament was hosted this past weeked, by The Wasenaar Polo Club, located in The Hague, Netherlands, and featured eight teams up to 8 goals. The Belgian Puesto Viejo, representing the Argentine town of Cañuelas, took part in the competition.
Puesto Viejo also managed to clinch the winner’s title, defeating QM, 6-5. The Puesto Viejo team was made up of David Bernal, Daniel Elosequi, Anthony Smet and Armand van Eecken.
Eleven year-old Anthony Smet (son of Ben Smet) was named MVP and his Mare, Medianoche, took BPP honors. Ben Smet enjoyed the summer polo season with us at Puesto Viejo Polo Club in Argentina.
